The Enhanced Employee Experience

Coming Soon: A fresh, streamlined way to interact with Luma

In the 2025 Luma survey, 53% of respondents said Luma is difficult to navigate. We saw feedback like:

“Luma is very hard to navigate.”

“Make it more user-friendly.”

“There’s an overwhelming number of unnecessary options.”

“Why does it take so many clicks?”

Introducing the Enhanced Employee Experience launching August 18, 2025, bringing a more intuitive and modern interface to Luma. This major upgrade is designed to simplify your daily tasks and help you find what you need, faster.

What's New?

New Navigation Menu Design

Bidding a fond farewell to the green module icons in the
Navigation Menu (waffle menu)! They've been replaced with a full-height, left-hand panel featuring a cleaner layout and quicker access to your applications and bookmarked pages.

Application Tabs

You can now have multiple application tabs open at once. Open apps like FSM, GHR, and XM side-by-side without replacing your current screen.

Bookmarks & Pins

Pinned applications will automatically open every time you log in, ready for you to use.
Bookmark reports and pages so you can navigate to them with a single click.

Application Switcher

The Role Switcher is now called the Application Switcher. While roles are still assigned behind the scenes, employees now access the appropriate application to complete their tasks or processes.

Employee & Manager Landing Pages

Breadcrumb Back-Navigation

Q&A:

Q: I have created several personalization's to add or remove columns and filters on different pages. Will I need to re-create those page personalization's?
A: No, you will not need to re-create your existing page personalization's. While navigation is changing, the functionality within the applications is not. Your column and filter changes will carry over with the Enhanced Employee Experience. However, we recommend reviewing your personalization's after the upgrade to ensure everything displays as expected.

In the spirit of this question, it’s important to note that bookmarks will need to be recreated post-upgrade due to changes in the navigation structure and application URLs. We recommend making a list of your current bookmarks so you can easily restore them post-upgrade.

Q: I appreciate the effort to make things simpler but why not just change the names of the applications to what they are -- instead of Infor wfm, why not call it timesheets, XM to reimbursements, etc?
A: You’re not alone in thinking this! We’ve heard similar suggestions from users who want application names to better reflect their everyday use. While we can’t change the official names, like “Infor WFM” or “XM” due to vendor constraints (these names are set by Infor and used across all their customers) we are taking steps to make things clearer.

For example, from the Employee Resources widget on the Luma Statewide Homepage, you can click directly on “Timesheet & Time-Off Requests” to access what’s technically called “Infor WFM.”

Your input helps us continue improving clarity through labels, navigation, and training resources, thank you!

Q: Will links to the employee demos be sent via email?
A: Yes. Links to the employee demos will be sent via email. (Email sent 7/22: HERE) They will also be posted on the Luma Statewide Homepage Banner Announcement as the demonstration dates approach.
